Materials Science Testing: Build your own future!
What makes a structure strong enough? And how do you know if a design really works? During this workshop you will dive into the world of materials science!
You will learn how shape, material and properties combine to determine whether a structure is satisfactory. You get to work yourself: from designing in a CAD program to testing your own construction. How strong is your design? And what happens if the material fails?
During this workshop you will learn to recognize and solve problems - just like a real engineer. Design, test and improve your own creation!
Are you ready to experience engineering up close and discover for yourself what makes a construction really good? Sign up and help build the future!

Sustainable plastic: make it yourself!
Sustainable plastic: make it yourself! | Bright Future Day
Do you want to discover how we can make plastics more sustainable in the future? During this workshop you will make your own plastic. Not only with chemicals, but also with surprising natural ingredients such as... shrimp material! Yes, really! You will discover how to make plastic in two ways: with classical chemistry and with biological raw materials from nature.
Then we process your homemade materials in the processing lab. Here you shape the plastic and test how strong it is. We show you how plastic products (such as forks and knives) are made and you make your own pull rods, which we later use to test how strong your creations are!
Curious about what happens to these materials in nature? In a special setup you will see how chemical plastics and bioplastics behave in pots of soil and which material breaks down best. This workshop is an interesting journey of discovery of making, processing and testing your own plastic!
Are you curious about how science, sustainability and technology come together? Then sign up and experience the future of plastic for yourself!

Workshop 10
The world's strongest fiber is made just here!
Some call it a miracle fiber - and we don't disagree. Our Dyneema® of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is based on pioneering technology. It enables designers to realize breakthrough solutions to major industry challenges.
The pioneering invention of Dyneema® in 1967 formed the basis for decades of scientific innovation and the development of more than 40 product innovations. And they all have one thing in common: unmatched strength.
Each grade has its own unique properties, whether it is creep prevention, cut resistance, ballistic protection or much more.
Want to learn more about this invention and the many different applications it is all used in? Then sign up for a tour at Avient Protective Materials.
