This year, the annual 1001 Ideas Festival of CHILL in the heart of Heerlen, on Thursday, Oct. 2!
The theme: "Circular and modular homes - the home of the future".
We will start the day at the Woonboulevard, where you will be introduced to the CUBE Home: een demontabele woning waarvan alle materialen na gebruik teruggewonnen en hergebruikt kunnen worden. De CUBE Home maakt onderdeel uit van een project waarin technologische innovaties worden doorontwikkeld tot marktklare bouwinnovaties.
Naast de Cube Home staat het GTB Lab – ook daar gaan we een kijkje nemen. Het GTB Lab in Heerlen is een plek waar wordt geëxperimenteerd met bouwen zonder afval. Het gebouw is gemaakt van hergebruikte materialen en kan later weer worden afgebroken of aangepast. Zo leren bedrijven, scholen en onderzoekers samen hoe we in de toekomst duurzamer kunnen bouwen en minder hoeven weg te gooien. Een prachtig voorbeeld van circulair bouwen in de praktijk.
Later in the day, we move to the former DSM-Firmenich office, which will soon be transformed into a modern, sustainable residential and living environment. Living Limburg, the new owner, shows how they are redeveloping this iconic building into future-proof housing.
Inspired by these two examples, we next turn to work on your own with real (technical) practical challenges - so-called challenges - nominated by companies in the industry.

- Workshops, including "Learn to pitch like a pro"
At the end of the day, you will have the opportunity to share your pitching brilliant idea!
