Location

Brightlands Chemelot Campus

A fantastic two-day festival at CHILL on the Brightlands Campus in Geleen during which about 100 participants get to work on issues of circularity. The participants are students from 11 different high schools in Dutch and Belgian Limburg who, under the guidance of experienced facilitators and guided by students from Hogeschool Zuyd, come up with solutions that can make their world a little nicer and better.
These solutions can later be a project, which can be further developed during, for example, a profile paper, R&D assignment or internship, or used by teachers as inspiration for lessons/projects.

Besides being creative, participants also learn a lot about collaboration, brainstorming, prototyping and presenting, but most of all, there is room for fun!

The issues the students will be working on this edition come from Brightlands Chemelot Campus, Municipality of Sittard-Geleen, Hogeschool Zuyd, UM, Sabic, Circle, Blue Plastics, Rd4, CBS and Rabobank.

Each of these parties will introduce themselves to the participants at the start of the festival through a short pitch and explain their link to the theme of circularity/sustainability. They will participate in the jury that will give feedback on the students' pitches about the solutions they have come up with. Finally, they commit to taking a role in the process that students can start after Sept. 19 and 20 to further develop their idea into a prototype, for example.

Connecting education, business and government! Experience shows that the 1001 Ideas Festival is one of the many activities organized by CHILL that demonstrate that such a connection can lead to valuable, innovative ideas. Here's to an inspiring and successful 2024 edition!
